The protagonist is a treasure hunter who has heard about the artefact contained in the ruins of an ancient civilisation on Zerrik. Knowing about the electrical storms on the planet that will disable the machinery of his spaceship, but not wanting to risk waiting in case someone beats him to it, he decides he'll be able to recover the artefact before the next storm hits.
Tracking a power signal given off by the artefact, he finds a temple built by the extinct civilisation breaking through the tree line of a rainforest and lands nearby. He attempts to recover the artefact. However, upon locating it in a series of caves, he is confronted by the antagonist.
The antagonist - not a member of the ancient civilisation, but instead part of a native species of the planet that has adopted the ruins as a sort of sacred ground - is tasked with guarding the ruins and its artefact. He attacks the protagonist in an attempt to recover the artefact
This delays the protagonist's return long enough for the storm to have started by the time he finally leaves the caves. From then on, he has to avoid the antagonist and survive until the storm passes and his spaceship is working again.
