From Thomas Marent's Rainforest - A Photographic Journey:
"While the canopy is drenched with sunlight and rocked by storms, the world below is dark and still." This is why the digital drawing shown above is meant to be so dark, because the sunlight is blocked from the forest floor by thick canopies. This is also why the leaves are a brownish color instead of the orange color I have used in the past.
